Katie

Katie has cultivated a musical journey defined by her artistry, curiosity, and passion for connecting with others through song.

From soaring operatic arias to intimate art song recitals, Katie sings to create moments that build bridges, move hearts, and invite audiences into the beauty and wonder of music.

Her training has taken her across Europe, The Centre for Opera Studies in Sulmona, Italy and the European Music Academy in the Czech Republic. These international experiences shaped her as a versatile performer, deepening her linguistic competency, stylistic nuance, and connection to the rich traditions of the operatic repertoire.

On stage, Katie has brought her artistry to a variety of beloved roles such as Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Frasquita in Carmen, Nannetta in Falstaff, and Despina in Così fan tutte. She has appeared as a featured soloist with the Calgary Civic Symphony, The Calgary Korean Canadian Choir, The Instrumental Society of Calgary, Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir, Opera Opulenza, and The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

Katie’s passion extends beyond operatic studies to recital work and the intimate sharing of song. Her dedication led her to study with a  soprano and musicologist, Patricia Caicedo, and in 2021 she fulfilled a long held dream by immersing herself in the world of Latin American and Iberian art song at the Barcelona Festival of Song.

Katie has earned distinguished recognition, including being named the Winner and People's Choice Award of the 2013 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions - Western Canada, as well as being an award winner at the 2014 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions - Northwest Regional Auditions.
